Jodie created the persona Junk Jodie in 2015, but prior to this, she was a performer and visual artist after completing training at East 15 Acting School in Physical theatre and previous Art and Design vocational training.
Jodie has been featured in numerous local and international newspapers, including the Mumbai Mirror and The Hindu Times. She has been interviewed on various radio stations and appeared on That’s TV South and BBC News South Today. Jodie also received a Mayor’s Award for her services to the community and was a finalist for Basingstoke and Deane’s A Place To Be Proud Of Awards in the Green Community Champion category. She was also selected as one of the artists to perform at the Anvil Arts, Basingstoke Variety Show, to help raise vital funds for the Mayor’s Charity Appeal.
Based in Basingstoke, Jodie is an artist who has performed nationally, working in online YouTube TV shows, voice-overs, touring theatre, aerial circus and immersive experiences.
Previous collaborations include Proteus Theatre Company, Wildbrain Spark, DHX Media (Sylvanian Families UK), Irish Fairy Door Company, MGA LTD (TIE Productions), Katch 22 Productions (Cruises), Legoland, and Scratch Built Productions. Jodie has conducted live online workshops in India as part of the Junk Jodie series and is a regularly featured actor on the Peppa Pig Afternoon Tea bus tour show.
Junk Jodie was born out of a love for colour, craft, arts, materials, scrap stores, storytelling, and theatre. Jodie has extensive experience in children’s theatre and workshops and wanted to create a persona that encapsulates all of this along with her passion for the environment, sustainability, mindfulness, and well-being.
